Between greasy gas station food and processed airline meals, it’s easy to get off track from good nutrition when traveling. Follow these simple steps to ensure you have a healthy summer vacation:
1. Take your Juice Plus+ daily. You may be traveling, but you should never take a vacation from Juice Plus In fact, it’s even more important to take Juice Plus+ to fill the nutritional gap that may widen when you’re on the road.
2. Pack a snack. Before hopping on a plane or starting a long drive, pack a few light snacks like raw vegetables or fresh fruit. These will curb your appetite and help you fight the temptation to indulge in less nutritious options. They’ll also be especially welcome if you encounter travel delays.
3. Buy fresh groceries upon your arrival. Wherever your destination, chances are there will be a grocery store nearby. Or, if you’re lucky, a Farmer’s Market. Buying fresh produce will not only help you eat healthier, it also can save you money since you won’t have to eat out for every meal. Even if you are in a hotel room without a refrigerator, you can still keep bananas, grapes and more on hand.
4. Think of the big picture. If you don’t eat enough fruits and veggies at one meal, be sure they fill at least half your plate at the next. Similarly, if you overeat at one meal go light on the next. It takes an “extra? 3,500 calories to gain 1 pound.
