Traditionally, doctors have used their fingers to feel the inflammation in arthritis joints. For more accuracy, patients have to undergo X-ray or MRI.
But recently some doctors have begun using a more accurate, cheaper and safer method that can be implemented at patient’s bedside.
They use ultrasound to guide them as they drain fluid or inject medicine with extreme accuracy. This makes it possible to see the process in “real time” and react accordingly.
